Who's behind Escale Floride

Escale Floride is run by a Quebec engineer who has spent much of his career living and working abroad: in Africa, in the American West and on many business trips across Asia. He's now back in Quebec and spends time in Florida.
Why this site
Every move taught him the same lesson: the practical rules (insurance, licences, banking, taxes, the border) are always more complicated than you expect, and clear information is hard to find. In Florida, he kept searching for the same answers as everyone else: do I need an I-94? How many days can I stay without losing provincial health coverage? Is my licence valid?
Escale Floride puts those answers in one place, in English and French, for active Canadians who aren't retired yet: remote workers, families, condo owners and anyone staying a few weeks to a few months.
How the site works
- Articles rely on official sources (CBP, USCIS, IRS, FLHSMV, CRA, provincial health plans) and cite them.
- Every page shows when it was last updated. Rules change often, and articles are reviewed every season.
- AI tools help with research and drafting. Facts are checked before publishing.
- The site is funded by ads and affiliate links, always disclosed.
- This site informs: it doesn't replace a lawyer, tax professional or financial advisor.
